Actor. Director. Educator.
For the past four years, I have been a student facilitator for All Star C.A.S.T. at Syracuse. In this class, a group of students work to create a weekly theatre workshop for a group of actors in the Syracuse community who have learning disabilities. Since I started this program freshman year, I have loved getting to know the All Star actors, learning more about disability rights and how ableism shows up in the world, and growing more confident in my leadership skills as a facilitator. In years past, our shows have explored themes such as clowning, personal identity, and how it feels to say “no”.
Last year, videographers from Syracuse University came into our class to do some interviews and take video footage for their website to raise awareness in the general university community about this incredible class and the opportunities it provides students to become a part of the Syracuse community. You can check out that article here! I’m excited to continue exploring my interest in arts education and drama therapy in the future.
