Actor. Director. Educator.
In the fall of 2021, I studied abroad in London, where I took classes at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and got to perform in Twelfth Night on the Globe stage. I worked with many world-class professors and studied voice and speech, movement, historical dance, Shakespeare’s texts, and classical acting. In addition to this, I got to travel around the United Kingdom, where I visited Stonehenge, Bath, Brighton, the Cotswolds, and Edinburgh, Scotland!
The time I spent abroad taught me how to look at the world with an open mind and to be open to exploration. I found a new confidence in my own independence as I worked with new professors and found my way around an unfamiliar country for four months. Plus, I got much more comfortable handling classical text, especially Shakespeare, and I learned to love his plays even more. We got to see dozens of shows on the West End and beyond while in London, and I got more comfortable assessing my own theatrical opinion of different shows, all while having a fantastic time as a frequent theatergoer!
